This was a happy place to be on a breezy and sunny Saturday – good food, a good vibe and a beautiful view of Black Point Marina in Cutler Bay.

 

We went exploring and found this restaurant located right next of the water on the opposite side of Miami Beach. It has been around since 2005 and serves dishes using fresh seafood, produce, hand cut steaks, salads and sandwiches. This was not a fancy place but it was definitely full of charm. Sitting on the waterfront, simple food, well- seasoned and prepared always tastes much better with a side dish of ocean breeze.

The little one had the Hamburger –half pound char-grilled ground Angus beef on a Kaiser bun with lettuce, tomato and Bermuda onion served with French fries. We got there at 11 am, with no prior breakfast, so this hamburger instantly disappeared from the plate.

The Blackened Dolphin Avocado was served with black beans, rice and cilantro avocado cream topped with fresh salsa. It was a messy-looking and interesting plate that was tasty and filling. It was quite nice actually. Crazy-looking presentation as no one would be able to guess what it is unless the dish was described.

Whole Hong Kong Hogfish was the bomb! Crispy, juicy, drizzled with a sweet chili sauce that only enhanced the whole experience of eating a fish that was staring you in the eye while you devoured it.

Dessert was Key Lime Pie – it found a new house in our stomachs in an instant.

Black Point Ocean Grill is a cheerful place. It offers group dining, is kid and family-friendly, offers all-outdoor seating, a full bar and is just a great restaurant to eat, drink and be merry right next to the water.

 

I hear that sometimes dolphins, manatees and barracudas swim in the bay and entertain the diners.
