On a sunny Saturday morning, I was in a dark mood – too many things going on around me that seemed totally out of my control. I had to get out of the house, stop brooding and do something pleasant and cheap. I needed some onions and potatoes, so I knew exactly where I needed to go.
Granddaddy’s Farm Fresh Market is just down to road from me. I have been watching this place for a while and never went in. At one point, it even disappeared completely, so I thought that it was out of business, but now it’s back – all sparkly and crispy and freshly painted.
After picking up a bag of potatoes, a bag of onions and 2 big fat carrots, the grand total was $5.25. That put a massive smile on my face – sunshine returned to my life. I rushed home to make a moreish chicken peanut curry that was so hearty that it did not need any rice.
It does not take much to make Masala Mamma happy.
