This summer flew by and I took the chickens and a friend to one of my favorite restaurants in Miami as a treat before school started.
I love this place and wanted the children to experience it. Khong River House is a restaurant located in Miami Beach that specializes in northern Thai cooking. We ordered a series of plates for all to share.

Pla Goong Yaso – Florida pink shrimp in roasted chili paste with lemongrass, fresh lime and endive.

Gai Yang – Chicken marinated for two days in coconut milk and stuffed with lemongrass, turmeric, garlic and coriander seed, served with a spicy-sweet dipping sauce.

Nua Dad Deaw, served with Burmese sticky rice and a spicy dipping sauce.

Lab Mu Tod – Isan-style chopped pork with roasted red chili, lemon juice, fish sauce and roasted rice powder.

Grilled Vietnamese Skinny Pork Chop – Honey-marinated traditional grilled pork chops with garlic and lemongrass.

Thai Doughnuts with assorted dipping sauces.

In their own words:
“Our goal at Khong River House is to remain as true as possible to the traditional flavors, ingredients and methods of Northern Thai cooking, while creating an authentic and warm communal environment for our guests to share and enjoy this experience in.”
We enjoyed the food very much and will be back. Below is Issa’s first video which she shot and edited all by herself.
