This site at the southern tip of Florida has been called ‘a river of grass flowing imperceptibly from the hinterland into the sea’. The exceptional variety of its water habitats has made it a sanctuary for a large number of birds and reptiles, as well as for other threatened species.
We went walking, taking pictures and gawking at different animals that you don’t see everyday like vultures and alligators.
It was a nice opportunity to practice our photographic skills on something other than food and bond with nature and family.
It is definitely a must-see when in Florida. Bring comfortable shoes and cameras or binoculars. It was a spectacular place to be. Silent and beautiful with a splendor that defied description both because of the uniqueness of the scenery and the distinctiveness of the flora and fauna that make this park their home.
