My brother took us for a drive down to Islamorada to eat something good and get some ocean breeze. This place was perfect for that, surrounded by water, flying pelicans and the sound of Caribbean music always playing in the background.
Squid Rings ($9.25)
These were fried calamari with more rings than tentacles. My little one was fascinated with them and kept picking them up by the handful, not even bothering to dip them in the sauce. She was literally stuffing her face with the rings and virgin Pina Coladas, leaving little room for her main dish.

Coco Lobster Bites ($18.95)
Pieces of lobster coated with coconut flakes and deep fried. I have never had lobster prepared like this before, and I must say it was very interesting – chunky, crusty on the outside and soft on the inside. The sauce that came with it was really good, on the sweetish side, not sure what was in it, but it was great.

Cheeseburgers ($12.25)
The little ones got this classic cheeseburger with all the trimmings. They were both stuffed with calamari and drinks, so neither one of them finished the burger. My chicken totally forgot about it when we got home so I had a go at it and I can tell you that the patty was nice and smoky.

Key West Pasta ($19.75)
Key West shrimp tossed in a rich, creamy lobster sauce and plated on a bed of linguine looked delicious albeit oddly presented with two pieces of bread that looked like sausages from afar. This was my brother’s dish, and he liked it. I did not get to taste it.

Stuffed Florida Lobster (Seasonal, Market Price)
This plate was really unique and different. A whole Florida lobster was stuffed with herb seasoned crabmeat and presented with a skewer of shrimp and scallops; talk about a seafood coma. The stuffing was a delight, and there was plenty of meat in this little guy who had a big, fat, juicy tail. It came with a butter sauce, perfect for dunking the shrimp and lovely scallops. This was a truly spectacular and beautifully sensual dish.

Islamorada Fish Company was a fun place to hang-out and eat. The food was good, but the atmosphere and the friendly service is what shines here. It was gorgeous, and the cool vibe can make you think that you just landed on an island in the Caribbean.
