The Most Expensive Thing I Have Ever Eaten

I was looking forward to tasting this for a while and I finally got the opportunity to try it. This dish takes traditional Chirashi to a whole new level – a warm bowl is filled with seasoned sushi rice and topped with tastes of Juvia’s signature items and most luxurious ingredients.  While it changes depending on what the restaurant has available – you can expect top quality sashimi selections like toro, hamachi, tako (octopus) and salmon, among tender slices of wagyu beef, tuna ceviche, king crab, rock shrimp tiradito, and more.

This was so delicious, so fantastic that it had me swooning. The rice was warm, underneath a blanquet of extraordinary morsels of sashimi, beef and ceviches. It was nirvana and the ultimate food orgasm. I even told my chickens that if I could eat one thing for the rest of my life, it would be this Chirasi.

Then came the bill…

I almost choked when I saw that it was over $80.00. I did not ask for the price before I ordered it, and I am not sure if I would have if I had asked beforehand. So it was destiny that I eat this and it was well worth it.

I had this Chirasi earlier this year at Juvia, so I am not sure if they are still serving it. All I know is that I think about it often, and it even shows up in my dreams sometimes.

  1. Oh, my, guess you file this experience “under lesson learned”. I go to a local place for a huge bowl of chirashi and with a salad, it costs about $10!! This looks wonderful, but … 🙂

Happy Holidays to you and the girls.
